How we work

From first call to live site.

Handing money to somebody you found online is uncomfortable. So here’s exactly what happens, in what order, and what it costs — before you ring anybody.

1. A conversation, not a pitch

Twenty minutes on the phone. What you do, where you work, what kind of jobs you want more of, and what’s happening now. If a new website isn’t the answer — and sometimes it genuinely isn’t — we’ll tell you that instead of selling you one.

We’ll usually look at your existing site while we talk and tell you what’s wrong with it there and then.

2. A fixed price, in writing

One number, covering the whole thing. Not an hourly rate that creeps, and not a “from” price that doubles once you ask for the obvious. If the job changes, we agree the change before doing it.

3. What we need from you

This is the part that decides how quickly it goes live, so it’s worth being straight about:

  • Photographs of real jobs. Phone pictures are fine. Before-and-afters are gold. Stock photos of somebody else’s fencing help nobody.
  • The towns you actually cover — and the ones you’d rather not drive to.
  • Your services, in your words.
  • Any accreditations — Gas Safe, NICEIC, TrustMark, CHAS. These matter more than most people realise.

We write the words. You read them and tell us if they don’t sound like you.

4. Build and review

You see the site before it goes live, on a real link you can open on your phone and show your other half. Two rounds of changes are included, and nobody counts them petty.

5. Going live, and the bit most people skip

Anyone can put a site online. The part that decides whether it earns anything is what happens next:

  • Google Search Console connected, so we can see what people actually search to find you
  • Your Google Business Profile pointed at the same phone number and address as the site
  • The technical side checked with our own audit tools — including whether AI assistants can read the site at all, which plenty of trade sites quietly get wrong

6. Afterwards

The site is yours. You own the domain and you own the site, and both stay registered in your name rather than ours.

Like any website it has a running cost — hosting and the domain renewal, usually a modest amount a year. You pay that directly to the provider, not to us, so you are never paying a middleman to keep your own site switched on. If you ever want to move it elsewhere, you can, and we will help rather than make it awkward.

If you want ongoing work — more pages, ranking work, a lead system that chases enquiries while you’re on site — that’s a separate conversation and a separate price. It is never a condition of getting your website.

How long the whole thing takes

Usually two to three weeks from the first call to going live. The build is the quick part. What adds time is waiting on photographs, so if you can get those together early, it goes faster.

Start with the conversation.

Twenty minutes, no obligation, and an honest answer about whether we’re the right fit. Pick a time that suits you.
